How’d They Do It?
In ancient Egypt, white teeth were a sign of wealth. To achieve bright smiles, the Egyptians mixed ground pumice stone with wine vinegar. Tasty, right?
Of course, the Egyptian method of whitening isn’t nearly as unappealing as the ancient Roman means of teeth whitening with urine. Unfortunately, the Romans weren’t aware that it was the ammonia in urine that produced whiter teeth.
Fast Forward to Today
